Clinical trials in mitochondrial disease are almost non-existent in Australia. AMDF is eager for more pharmaceutical companies to see Australia as a viable location to conduct clinical trials. For Australia to be a candidate for clinical trials, infrastructure must be in place. This infrastructure can include venues and staff to run the trial, Internet resources, and bio-banking facilities.

AMDF Clinical Trial Infrastructure Grants will be $75,000 per year for three years.
