Local Cafe Supports AMDF

On Monday 20th September the Three Spoons café opened for business on their day off in support of the AMDF. Why would anyone come in to work on their day off we hear you ask? The owners of the Three Spoons – Pat and Pam - did indeed ask themselves the very same question. The answer: to raise awareness of mitochondrial disease and raise funds for a cure.

Pat and Pam are well known within the Sydney community of Concord West village and receive loyal patronage from people who live in the area and local businesses. They first became aware of mitochondrial disease when one of their customers let them know the sad news that her brother had recently passed away as a result of this disease.

Being the movers and shakers that they are, Pat and Pam decided to ask customers to ‘Donate Change to Make Change’ and also donated all profits made on the fundraising day to the Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. The AMDF would like to sincerely thank Pat and Pam, the staff of the Three Spoons, loyal customers and local businesses of the Concord West community for their support. Over $1000 was raised for the AMDF!

Funds raised will help to support AMDF initiatives including research projects conducted in major tertiary hospitals around Australia. Through this, real hope is generated for people living with mitochondrial disease.
