AMDF is seeking expressions of interest from individuals or groups - preferably from within the mito community - willing to take on the management and development of the Energy for Life Walkathon/Fun Run events. The aim of the Energy for Life events is to raise funds for AMDF projects and to raise awareness about mitochondrial disease. The events also provide an opportunity for the mito community to gather together in the fight against mito.
Opportunity also exists in a similar fashion with the planned Running on Empty elite athlete events.
The opportunity would suit those experienced with events management with the aim of building on the innaugural events conducted in Sydney and Perth in 2011 to hold signature events in major centres around Australia within 5 years. Building on the model of the UMDF, it is expected that support will also need to be provided for those AMDF supporters conducting their own Energy for Life events in regional centres.
Please contact Sean Murray (sean.murray@amdf.org.au, 0422 819 975), AMDF CEO, in the first instance to explore this opportunity further.
