Family PJ party

The 2010 Stay in Bed Day on Sunday 22nd August saw the Crawley family plan a PJ party of their own. The family PJ party organised by the Crawley’s was held at the Caringbah Baptist Church (CBC) in the hope to raise to raise awareness and funds for the AMDF.

Just over 130 people attended the day which featured many fun-filled activities to keep both the kids and parents entertained. The boys had an opportunity to run wild on the indoor soccer courts, while the girls opted to enjoy face painting, hair styling, make-up and dress-ups.  They all also enjoyed a colouring in competition and cupcake decorating. A silent auction kept the adults entertained with over 100 items on offer, generously donated by mostly local businesses. Three heads were also ‘cut for the cause’, and an extra $100 was offered by two friends if they could cut their friends hair themselves!

Overall, the event raised further awareness about this horrific illness, and raised over $11,000 – an absolutely amazing success!

Thank you to the all the businesses that so generously donated.  Many thanks to the Caringbah Baptist church for offering up the use of their facilities, and their incredible catering team led by Barry and friends . Food was also brought by others attending the fundraiser. A big thank you to the Crawley family, their friends, work colleagues, church members and others who supported on the day.

Congratulations to the Crawley family on the success of the event. Such fundraising efforts help to make even more crucial research into mitochondrial disease possible. Thank you again for your support, and for playing such a profound role in the ongoing fight to defeat mito disease.
